Personal breastfeeding experience: Mother of two, my breast feeding journey with my first born was smooth and good. I exclusively breast fed her for 6 months and gradually weaned her. When I had second kid 3 years later, having breast fed first one I assumed second time would be the same. But we started with painful latch that looked perfect but was very painful and a cycle of cut bleeding nipples, mastitis and oral thrush started with him. He had lip tie with high arch palate which caused painful nursing. With good guidance and my persistence to exclusively breast feed my kid we reached a comfortable stage after 3 months. This journey led me to learning more deeply about breast feeding and I did my advanced level training with bsim. It not only helped me learn how much I didn’t know during my first kid and things I could have done differently, but it also inspired me to continue breast feeding with my second kid. He is 6 months now and exclusively breast fed. I will continue to feed him as long as possible along with my long hectic working hours and a toddler to manage.
